The Alberta Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association (AHPA) is an independent group formed by Albertan pilots. In the past, current HPAC members whom had listed their residence as Alberta were, by association, members of the AHPA. A portion of HPAC membership dues was given back to the AHPA for provincial projects and initiatives. Currently there is no fee collection to join the AHPA, we are working on a new way for members to join.

AHPA Board of Directors

The Board of Directors is appointed annually by the membership base. The Board is responsible for making decisions on behalf of the association, and managing association projects / initiatives. Further details on B.O.D. responsibilities and procedures can be viewed in the association bylaws. The 2025 Board of Directors is as follows:

• Matthew Low - Treasurer

• Brandon Hopkins - Director

• Patric Stettler - Director

• Robert Maguire - Director

AHPA Projects:

Your board of directors is working on a number of exciting initiatives, all aimed at promoting Hang Gliding & Paragliding within the province of Alberta. Here are some of the different project we’re working on right now:

• Sponsorship of weather station projects for local sites;

• Advocacy and sponsorship of regional flying events;

• Provincial Parks advocacy with the goal of opening parks to free flight;

• Web management and development of this website;

• Promotion of provincial free flight at various events and venues.
